[new]Various issues over the past year have prevented us from updating the official Acid Mothers Temple website. Happily they are now resolved and updates will resume to the release information pages, the discography, etc. To begin with, here is the release information over the previous year. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] A new studio album by Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O entitled "The Ripper At The Heaven's Gates of Dark" was released by the UK Riot Season label. The first pressing of the CD came in gatefold card sleeve. A limited run of 2LPs in an edition of 500 was released at the same time. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] Kido Natsuki's guest appearance at the 9th Acid Mothers Temple Festival in December 2010 is captured on the album "2010: A Space Ritual", which has been released on the Acid Mothers Temple label. It comes with a six-panel gatefold papersleeve. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] "Black Mass Rising", a dark underground film by director Shazzula Nebula has been released on DVD in an edition of 666 by the French label, Blass Mass Rising Label. The soundtrack includes an exclusive track by Kawabata called "Black Lucifer Rising Son Of A Bitch". The soundtrack also includes material by Bobby Beausoleil. The soundtrack album is due to be released as a limited triple LP (666 copies, naturally) by the same label this spring. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] Studio recordings by Acid Maso Temple have been released as one half of a split LP called "The Electric Kool-aide Results" on the US label, White Noise. The release is shared with LA-based band Kill Kill Kill. The LP was reissued on double CDR by the US label, Yab Yum Records. On the CDR edition, the Acid Maso Temple tracks are identical, but the Kill Kill Kill tracks are different. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] A 10 LP boxset entitled "Omicron-Omega" has been released on the Italian label, Qbico. Two of the LPs feature early recordings by Kawabata Makoto - 1979 live recordings by Dark Revolution Collective (Ankoku Kakumei Kyodotai), and a compilation drawn from four cassettes released in 1981 by the experimental unit MURA which used handmade instruments. The other eight LPs in the box feature Conrad Schnitzler, Arthur Doyle, Toyozumi Yoshisaburo and Takagi Mototeru, etc. Limited edition of 101 sets. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] A studio album by Alien's Social Dance Party (Tabata Mitsuru and Fujikake Masataka) has been released by the Japanese label, Fulldesign Records. The album is titled "Morse". (Feb.02.2012)

[new] The Shiga-based folk singer Biroudoneko has released her first album "Uneri" on CD on her own Velvet Cat Label. The album includes three duo pieces with Kawabata. Kawabata also features on one track on a bonus CDR (called, ummm, "Bonus Tracks") that was given away to attendees at the release party concert. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] Suzuki Junzo's live solo CDR "Sing!" has been released by his own Plunk's Plan Recordings label. Kawabata guests on one track, "Remember". (Feb.02.2012)

[new] The US label Placenta Recordings have released a CDR called "Lemonade Station Destruction 25" by Kawbata Makoto and the American noise performer Dental Work. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] When Kawabata played solo in Okinawa last summer, the promoters Uchutamago distributed an exclusive CDR of new studio recordings to those who booked tickets in advance. The CDR was titled "Brutal Orgasm From The Sea" and it was a limited edition of 60 copies. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] A selection of studio recordings by Acid Mothers Temple & The Cosmic Inferno from when Pika (aka.Pikacyu) was still in the band have been released on CD by the Japanese label Chaotic Noise Recordings, under the title "For How Much Longer Do We Tolerate Goofy Funk?" The album was released last summer to celebrate the Chaotic Noise venue moving to a new location, and was given away for free to all the ticket-holders at the opening concert. AMT & The Cosmic Inferno were of course the headliners that night. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] A studio album by Pikacyu * Makoto (Pika and Kawabata Makoto) has been released on CD by the UK Riot Season label. The album is titled "OM Sweet Home : We Re Shining Stars From Darkside". (Feb.02.2012)

[new] A studio album by Miminokoto has been released on CD by the US label, Important Records. The album is titled "Hitoyogiri". (Feb.02.2012)

[new] Sherpa Films have released a DVD of documentary shorts by the Mexican video artist Gabriel Santamarina called "The Voice of Abyss". The shorts were filmed at the mountain temple in Asuka where Kawabata lives. The soundtrack includes music from Kawabata's Inui unit. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] The first-ever acoustic live set by Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O., recorded in Nagoya in 2008 has been released on LP under the title "Live As Troubadour" by the US label Important Records. As wel as regular black vinyl, there are also blue and white vinyl versions. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O.'s first live album, "Live in Occident", originally released on double vinyl only, has been reissued on CD by the Brazilian label Essence Music. It comes in a mini duplicate of the original gatefold sleeve, in a limited edition of 500. At the time of the original vinyl release there were various compression problems which meant that the record had to be considerably remastered before it could be pressed, but this CD version contains the original mix of the album. [new] Studio recordings by Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. have been released by the Canadian label Alien8 under the title "Pink Lady Lemonade - You're From Inner Space" on CD and double vinyl. The album title of course pits it against Acid Mothers Temple & The Cosmic Inferno's 2008 album "Pink Lady Lemonade - You're From Outer Space", released in 2008 on the UK label Riot Season. There are some minor differences between the CD and vinyl versions. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] Live recordings from the Pika version of Acid Mothers Temple & The Cosmic Inferno have been released under the title "Shakespeare From The Cosmic Inferno 2008" by the UK label Blackest Bootlegs. It is only available on double vinyl, in a limited edition of 250. The album was recorded live in Sheffield in August 2008 during the band's UK tour. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] The late and much lamented Afrirampo released a final live recording called "Never Ending Afrirampo" on the Japanese label Ki/oon Recordings. It comes as a CD + 2 DVD set, and the DVD includes footage of Kawabata guesting on "Yuki kesshiki". (Feb.02.2012)

[new] 20 Guilders, the group consisting of Tabata Mitsuru and Suzuki Junzo, have released a CD titled "New Songs And Wrong Songs For Patricia" on their own Gulden Muziek Ltd label. It is a reissue of a cassette originally released in 2009 on Sloow Tapes, plus three new studio recordings. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] 2009 live recordings by Higashi Hiroshi Group, which were later mixed and worked over by Nasca Car's Nakaya Koichi, have been released as a limited edition of 50 CDR on the Nasca Car label under the does-what-it-says-on-the-tin title "Space Age Music vol.1 - Higashi Hiroshi Group Live at K.D.Japon Sep.2009 Live Mix & Extended". The line-up was the sextet of Higashi (syn), Kawabata (syn), Nakaya (syn), Miyashita Keiichi (gtr), Suzuki Junzo (gtr), and Chang Chang (gtr). Higashi himself has added further overdubs to these recordings and has released them as a CDR under the title "Higashi Hiroshi Unit". (Feb.02.2012)

[new] "Guru Guru Fest 2010", live recordings featuring Mani Neumeier (Guru Guru), Yoshida Tatsuya, Tsuyama Atsushi and Kawabata, has been released on CD by the Japanese label, Chaotic Noise Recordings. The CD features unreleased live takes by Acid Mothers Guru Guru, Acid Mothers Temple, and Manitatsu (Mani + Yoshida). It comes with a six-panel gatefold papersleeve. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] Mani Neumeier (Guru Guru) has self-released a live CDR of his exploits in Japan under the title "Mani-San in Japan feat.The Cracks Of Japanese Underground vol.1". It includes an unreleased live take of "Bayangobi" by Acid Mothers Guru Guru, as well as tracks featuring the quintet of Damo Suzuki, Michael Karoli, Mani, Manjao and M. Keul, a duo with Uchihashi Kazuhisa, Manitatsu and more. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] A studio album by Mani Neumeier (Guru Guru) & Kawabata Makoto has been released on CD by the German label Bureau B. The album is titled "Samurai Blues". (Feb.02.2012)

[new] Studio recordings by Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. and the Italian band Stearica have been released by the Italian label Homeopathic Records under the title "Stearica Invade Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O." on CD and double vinyl. limited run of 2LPs + a bonus DVD in an edition of 100 was released at the same time. [new] The Nagoya-based folk duo Shogo-Nari have released a live CDR from 2010 featuring guest appearances by Kawabata and Higashi under the title "Shogo Nari + Kawabata Makoto + Higashi Hiroshi Feb 6 2010 K.D. Japon, Nagoya". (Feb.02.2012)

[new] The first album "Houyou" and second album "Ningen Wa Kane No Tame Ni Shineruka" by the 80s group Noizunzuri which featured Tabata Mitsuru have been released on CD by the Japanese label Super Fuji Discs in remastered editions. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] The second release by Acid Mothers Temple with Yamamoto Seiichi, "Mega Pyschedelia" has been released by the Acid Mothers Temple label on CD. It consists of live recordings from the 8th Acid Mothers Temple Festival, held in Nagoya in 2009. It comes with a six-panel gatefold papersleeve. Limited edition of 1000. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] A live album entitled "Stones, Women and Records at TakuTaku 2009" by Acid Mothers Temple SWR with Umezu Kazutoki and Yamamoto Seiichi has been released on CD on the Acid Mothers Temple label. [new] A live album by Acid Mothers Temple SWR with Umezu Kazutoki entitled "Sax & The City" has been released on CD by Magaibutsu ltd. It was recorded live in Tokyo in 2009 before being edited and reconstructed by Yoshida Tatsuya. It comes with a six-panel gatefold papersleeve. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] Over the course of 2010, Kawabata played a series of concert's at Smith Kinendo in Hikone. The CDRs that were solo studio recordings were distributed to attendees. There were nine different CDRs, documenting the whole series. [new] "In Search Of Hawkwind", a tribute album to Hawkwind, includes one track by Acid Mothers Temple & The Cosmic Inferno, "Brainstorm". The track was recorded during Okano Futoshi's tenure in the band. The album includes nine tracks in total, with covers by Mudhoney, Bardo Pond, Kinski, etc, and was released on CD on the UK label Critical Mass Records. All the tracks were originally released as split 7" EPs by the Irish label Trensmat in 2008, as part of their "Sonic Attack 7" Split Single Series". Digipak. (Feb.02.2012)

[new] As part of their "Cassette Ijinden Series", the Japanese label, Yokochin label has released an album called "Acid Mothers Temple / Zenkyokushu" by Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. The A-side includes a previously unreleased live recording of "Dark Stars in the Dazzling Sky" recorded at the 7th Acid Mothers Temple Festival and featuring the twin drum attack of Ichiraku Yoshimitsu and Shimura Koji. [new] A live set recorded by Per Gisle Galaen (DEL, The Birds, Slowburn), Petter Flaten Eilertsen (Love Hz) and Kai Mikalsen (Kobi, Origami Arktika) on their 2007 tour of Japan will be released under the group name Dip Apple. The album is entitled "Made in Japan" and features guest appearances by Kawabata Makoto and Higashi Hiroshi. The album will be a joint release by Apartment Records and Synesthetic Records. [new] Three early cassettes by Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. will be reissued as a 2CD set by the Norwegian label Synesthetic Records. The set will contain material from the groupís first sessions in 1995, demo recordings for the first album, as well as tracks from the mystery-shrouded first cassette released in 1996 in an edition of 10.
